That is so cool! Are the Hungarian instruments hand made like American dulcimers? It's not just the sound, it's the woodcraft of the dulcimers that I find captivating. I use to have 3 now only one. Thanks for sharing your skills and instruments.

Wait until I get this "down pat" and I'll surprise the great folks at the Gateway Dulcimer Society (metro St. Louis/southern (kinda) Illinois) Monday evening jam. Went to my first jam this past Monday. Did a great job playing the final chord of each cadence!!! Yup. Newbie here intent on improving while having fun. I know enough already to know that Old Joe Clark is a classic. Thanks for a great instructional video.

Bradley, I just returned to your videos and of all the (excellent) bass instructors on RUclips... you are one of my top favorite! I can tell you truly understand beginners and how their brain and fingers work and "think". I like the way you call out the note names. It seems many teachers, books, tab sheets only refer to "first finger on fifth fret" e.t.c., and while I can learn to play along with simple tabs I have to learn the note's names separately, away from the music. Also... RHYTHM... as a beginner, I suddenly realized that bass is so much more than just keys and notes, most importantly the rhythm, groove, terminology such as "get in the pocket". Uhg..., I can drill positions, I can learn notes... but rhythm, and how to play the notes, that is a whole different story!!!! Without it the melody simply sounds flat... lifeless. So, Bradley... long story short... you are an awesome teacher through the eyes of a beginner and I just wanted to give you KUDOS.

Excellent lesson. I know you have a Saz but I don't remember it being double necked. The guy playing the last Saturday in Mardin Turkey had a double neck. I haven't seen any music stores since I've been here. I'm now in Kurdish territory. There's lots of music but the stores have evaded me. Do your thing brother.

Just found the exact type of dulcimer I want. Too bad that the only cheap ones are standard dulcimers. Haven't found a single baritone (much less a 6 string one) that isn't hundreds of euros.

I just started e-bass at age 64... bought a Fender Squire and a Fender P Player Series bass and started to learn enthusiastically. Never played an instrument other than recorder in middle school music class. LOL... the bass kept calling my name.
